Dr.

Ahmet Turnali is an optical scientist with a background in laser physics. He currently serves as a technical leader at the Optical Communications Division of Corning Inc, where he leads technology development projects in optical connectivity.

Before joining Corning Inc, he obtained his PhD in Electrical Engineering with a focus on laser-material interaction from Bilkent University, Turkey. He then worked as a postdoctoral associate in the Ultrafast Optics Laboratory at Boston University, where he was responsible for designing and developing high-power, ultrafast fiber laser systems.

Ahmet has been an active member of Optica since his undergraduate years and is an advocate for mentoring and coaching to strengthen the Optics community. He is also passionate about enhancing collaboration between academia and industry for a rich optics ecosystem.
