Explore the technical groups of the Information Acquisition, Processing, Display and Perception Technical Division, which encompasses the development and use of numerous techniques to acquire and process data.
The Information Acquisition, Processing, Display and Perception Technical Division is a community of information scientists interested in applications of photonics in digital systems, systems engineers interested in interfaces between analog and digital systems and physical scientists interested in the representation of data in physical form. The division encompasses fundamental information science, analog and digital interfaces, digital analysis of optical data, physical information processing and the physical limits of information. Explore the technical groups within this division, each of which offers their members access to innovative events, focused networking opportunities and engaging webinars.
This group focuses on the various aspects of display technologies including the physical display media, algorithms needed to visualize data, systems and subsystems that present the display, and data formatting needed to interface with the physical display technologies used.
Learn MoreThis group focuses on the design and implementation of holographic and diffractive-optic devices and systems for scientific, commercial and other applications. The development of new approaches as well as materials needed to construct both analog and digital holograms are studied.
Learn MoreThis group is concerned with analog and digital processing in sensing and imaging systems, algorithms for sensor system control and for data analysis, sensor networks and data fusion, pattern recognition and tracking.
Learn MoreThis group focuses on using optical and optoelectronic devices and systems for digital data storage, processing, interconnection and networking. The group focuses on the physical representation of information and on coding and communication protocols for effective utilization of photonic systems.
