Optica Fellows Frequently Asked Questions
Fellows will now be referred to as “Optica Fellows” or simply “Fellows.”.
If you were elected a Fellow prior to 2022, you will be both an OSA Fellow and an Optica Fellow. If you chose to update your CV/resume or email signature, use either “Optica Fellow or “Fellow of Optica.
Some Fellows have added “FOSA” after their name to note their distinction as a Fellow of OSA. If you were elected a Fellow in 2022 and beyond, and you choose to continue that practice, please use “OpticaF”.
Yes, you can access the new Optica Fellows logo here.
Yes, new Optica Fellow pins have already been mailed out. If you haven’t received yours by the middle of October 2021 please contact us at awards@optica.org so we can send you a replacement pin.
Only those who are named Fellow in 2022 and beyond will receive an Optica Fellow plaque.
All of the benefits and programs available to Fellows remain as is. Additionally, there are no changes to the nomination and election process due to our brand change.
