You are invited to join the Optica Vision and Color Technical Division for their annual summer data blast! Each session will be hosted by one of our division’s technical groups and feature short talks related to their area of the field. The sessions will include a lot of time for questions and discussion following the talks.

This week's session, hosted by the Lighting Applications Technical Group, focuses on applied lighting reasearch. The session will feature the following talks:

  • Enhancing Indoor Daylight Availability through Optimized Urban Architecture: A Simulation-Based Study presented by Vedia Durmaz, Bilkent University 
  • Influence of color of daylight on discomfort glare perception presented by Sneha Jain, Stanford University 
  • Shedding Light on Dementia Care: A Clinical Trial on the Effects of Biodynamic Lighting on Sleep and Mood in Institutionalized Older Adults with Dementia presented by Mohammed Alrahyani, Arizona State University 
  • Can road lighting reduce gender differences in pedestrian reassurance? presented by Shahab Gorjimahlabani, Sheffield University
  • Spatial efficiency of indoor lighting for lighting application efficacy presented by Parisa Mahmoudzadeh, Pennsylvania State University 

Our moderator for this session will be Alp Durms, chair of the Lighting Applications Technical Group.
