Micro-Transfer Printing for Heterogeneous Silicon Photonic Integrated Circuits
This webinar is hosted By: Integrated Photonics Technical Group
12 June 2024 9:00 - 10:00
Eastern Daylight/Summer Time (US & Canada) (UTC -04:00)In this webinar hosted by the Integrated Photonics Technical Group, Gunther Roelkens from Ghent University will present his work on heterogeneous integration through micro-transfer printing of opto-electronic components and material films on Si/SiN photonics integrated circuits with minimal modification to the existing silicon photonics process flow.
Subject Matter Level: Introductory - Assumes little previous knowledge of the topic
What You Will Learn:
• Heterogeneneous integration of opto-electronic components on photonic integrated circuits, including III-V semiconductor optical amplifiers and lasers, efficient electro-optic modulators, and optical isolators, using micro-transfer printing
• How to do heterogeneous integration using micro-transfer printing
Who Should Attend:
• Researchers and professionals who use measurement in their area of expertise
• Anybody interested in what the potential of photonic integrated circuits and their applications
About the Presenter: Gunther Roelkens from Ghent University
Gunther Roelkens received a degree in electrical engineering from Ghent University, Belgium, in 2002 and a PhD from the same university in 2007, at the Department of Information Technology (INTEC), where he is currently full professor. In 2008, he was a visiting scientist in IBM TJ Watson Research Center, New York. His research interest includes the heterogeneous integration of III-V semiconductors and other materials on top of silicon waveguide circuits and electronic/photonic co-integration.
