About the Speaker
Antonio Raspa is an accomplished professional in the field of solid-state lasers, currently serving as the Ultrashort Laser Product Manager at Luxinar, located in Kingston upon Hull, U.K. He is also a valued member of the Editorial Advisory Board at Laser Focus World. With over 35 years of experience in solid-state laser design, photonics components, and fiber optics, Antonio is a recognized expert in the industry. Antonio holds a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Electrical Engineering from Politecnico di Milano, with a specialization in Laser & Photonics. Prior to joining Luxinar, he served as the Senior Photonics Program Manager at the European Photonics Industry Consortium (EPIC) from May 2020 to September 2022. Before that, he worked at Quanta System from 1988 to 2000, where he held the position of R&D Manager, focusing on the development of solid-state laser sources and custom photonics systems for industrial and scientific applications. During this period, he also contributed as an Ozone LiDAR specialist to the Italian research program in Antarctica. He then worked at Trumpf from 2000 to 2008, and Rofin-Sinar from 2008 to 2009, where he served as a Product Manager for industrial laser products and processes. In 2009, Antonio returned to Quanta System and successfully organized and managed a new production plant for sterile optical fibers used in surgery. Antonio's extensive expertise in solid-state lasers, photonics components, and fiber optics make him a valuable asset in the field. He has made significant contributions to various organizations throughout his career and continues to play a pivotal role in advancing the field of laser technology.
