About the Speaker
Simon Schwinger is an accomplished executive with extensive experience across high-tech industries, specializing in optics, photonics, and precision engineering. His career spans over two decades of leadership roles, where he has demonstrated a unique ability to combine technical innovation with strategic business growth. Currently, as the CEO of JAT - Jenaer Antriebstechnik GmbH, Simon leads a team of engineers in delivering sub-micrometer precision solutions for industries such as electronics, medical technology, and 3D printing. His work focuses on leveraging innovation to meet market demands and drive technological advancement.
Before joining JAT, Simon held pivotal roles in leading organizations. As CEO and Managing Director of LEJ (Leistungselektronik JENA GmbH), he transformed operations and drove revenue growth by introducing innovative optical and electronic systems tailored to the medical and scientific sectors. During his tenure at JENOPTIK, he progressed through senior leadership positions, including Director of Marketing & Sales, Director of Sales & Business Development, and Area Sales Manager for Europe, where he spearheaded business development and client engagement initiatives that strengthened the company’s market position. Simon also served as Director of Global Sales at Jabil, where he managed global optics sales and formed strategic partnerships to expand the company’s footprint.
In addition to his executive roles, Simon has been deeply engaged in advancing the photonics industry. Since 2023, he has been a member of the Optica Corporate Engagement Council, contributing to global strategies and fostering corporate partnerships. He also serves on the advisory boards of SPECTARIS and OptoNet e.V., where he plays a key role in shaping strategic initiatives and promoting innovation.
