About the Speaker
Dr. Anthony J. Yu is currently a Board Member and Strategic Advisor to early-stage technology companies.
He recently retired as the Vice President of the Silicon Photonics (SiPh) Product Management organization at GLOBALFOUNDRIES (GF), where he was responsible for the SiPh Product Line, providing differentiated silicon photonic manufacturing services and solutions to clients across multiple AI/ML applications. In that role, he established foundational silicon photonic manufacturing platforms for pluggable transceivers, optical interconnects (co-packaged optics), and quantum computing. Previous to that, Dr. Yu was Vice President of GF’s Computing and Wired Infrastructure Business Unit. Before joining GF, he held positions at IBM including executive roles in the Microelectronics Division as well as Global Business Services.
Yu earned his BS in Physical Chemistry from the University of California-Berkeley and his PhD in Materials Science / Physical Chemistry from Cornell University.
