About the Trustee
Gregg Bartlett serves as the Chief Technology Officer (CTO) at GlobalFoundries (GF), a role he took on in 2022. In this capacity, he leads GF's core technology initiatives and oversees GF Labs, focusing on innovation and long-term research and development. His responsibilities include fostering collaboration with leading universities and institutions to enhance GlobalFoundries' differentiated technology capabilities.
Bartlett joined GF in 2009 and has since held several senior executive positions. From 2019 to 2022, he was the Senior Vice President of Technology, Engineering, and Quality. Earlier roles included Senior Vice President of Strategy and Central Engineering, highlighting his strategic influence within the company. Before GlobalFoundries, he spent 25 years at Freescale Semiconductor and Motorola, where he held various technical and management positions that contributed to his extensive expertise in the semiconductor industry.
Beyond his core responsibilities at GF, Bartlett plays an influential role in the semiconductor sector. He serves on the Industrial Advisory Committee for the CHIPS and Science Act and represents GF on the Purdue Semiconductor Degree Program Leadership Board. Additionally, he is a member of the Governing Council for the Semiconductor Research Corporation's JUMP program and serves on the board of directors of Carbice Corporation.
Importantly, Gregg Bartlett is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Global Photonics Economic Forum, where he contributes to discussions on the photonics industry's future and its integration with semiconductor technologies. He holds a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from Kansas State University, underscoring his foundational expertise in engineering. Bartlett's career reflects a deep commitment to advancing semiconductor technologies and fostering innovation across the industry.
