Introducing MPB Communications New 16 Channel Multiformat DCI Line System

MPB Communications Inc. will introduce the latest addition to its DCI Line System Family – the new 16 channel Multiformat DCI Line System. Designed to meet the evolving needs of customers looking to upgrade their existing data networks to 100G transmission, the MPBC 16 channel Multiformat DCI Line System, allows clients to adopt and deploy new 100G technology whilst maintain 10G legacy transport.

Claudette Linton, Account Executive – Business Development, MPB Communications

Claudette joined MPB in 1998 and played a key role in the development of MPB’s DCI, SatCom Amplifiers and Fiber Laser product lines.   Working closely with OEM customers and MPB’s R&D team to assist in the successfully implementation of market driven customization and requirements.  Claudette currently manages major accounts related to Fiber Laser and Optical SatCom product lines.

 

 

 

Yi Zhang, DCI Family Product Manager, MPB Communications

Yi joined MPB in 2007 as electronics engineer. Over the years, he has expanded his interests from electronics to overall optical transmission system. In 2016, he led a team of engineers at MPB to develop the first DCI product. As a result, MPB introduced the first generation 40 channel DCI system. In 2018, Yi and his team successfully demonstrated second generation Long Reach DCI system bridging a link of 125km with Raman amplifier for a full c-band 4Tbps capacity. With market feedback, in 2019, he continued to lead the development work for the DCI-Eco family. Yi holds a B.A.Sc (UBC 2005), M.Eng (McGill 2007), M.B.A. (McGill 2014).

Founded in 1976, MPB provides high-performance optical amplifiers and Raman fiber lasers for network equipment.  With its roots in submarine unrepeatered systems, the Company’s product line has evolved into optical subsytems for terrestrial telecom, the utilities and data center markets. MPBC’s DCI product line is the latest addition to its optical amplification product portfolio.
