Airport

Prague is served by the Vaclav Havel Airport (PRG), located about 28 kilometers from the Prague Congress Centre. The airport offers connections to major European cities and international destinations. From the airport, travelers can reach the city center via:

• Airport Express Bus (AE): A direct service to Prague's main train station, Hlavní nádraží.

• Public Bus: Routes 119 and 100 connect to metro stations for onward travel.

• Taxi or Ride-Share: Official airport taxis and services like Bolt or Uber are available.

By Train: Prague is well-connected to neighboring countries and cities via train. Hlavní nádraží, the main train station, is centrally located and serves as a hub for domestic and international routes.

By Bus: Several international bus lines, including FlixBus and Eurolines, connect Prague to other European cities. The main bus terminal, Florenc, is easily accessible via the metro.

By Car: Driving to Prague is an option for those exploring Europe by car. Be mindful of parking restrictions and consider using Park & Ride facilities on the outskirts of the city to avoid traffic in the historic center.

Public Transportation

Prague boasts an efficient, affordable and reliable public transportation system consisting of metro, trams, and buses.

• Metro: Prague’s metro has three lines (A, B, and C) that cover most of the city. Trains run from 5:00 AM to midnight

• Buses: Buses primarily serve areas not covered by the metro or trams.

• Tickets: Tickets are valid for all modes of public transport and can be purchased at ticket machines, kiosks, or via the PID Litacka mobile app. Validate your ticket upon boarding.

Walking: Many of Prague’s iconic landmarks, such as Old Town Square, Charles Bridge and Prague Castle, are within walking distance of each other. The city’s compact and pedestrian-friendly layout makes it perfect for exploring on foot.

Cycling: While Prague’s cobblestone streets and hilly terrain can be challenging, cycling is becoming increasingly popular. Bike rentals and bike-sharing services are available.

Boat Tours and River Transport: The Vltava River provides a unique perspective of the city. Sightseeing cruises, paddleboats and ferry services offer leisurely ways to travel.

Prague Card: Consider purchasing a Prague Card for unlimited public transport access and discounts on attractions, tours and more.
