Paul G. Kwiat
Paul G Kwiat received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. After completing his Ph.D., Kwiat was a Lise Meitner Fellow with Anton Zeilinger at the University of Innsbruck. He then returned to the United States to Los Alamos National Laboratory. In 2001, he joined the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign, where he is today Bardeen Professor of Physics. Recently, he helped form the Illinois Quantum Information Science and Technology Center, and he now serves as it’s director.
Kwiat is a Fellow of OSA and the American Physical Society. He received OSA’s 2009 R.W. Wood Prize “for developing sources of polarization-entangled photons that have enabled significant advances in fundamental physics and quantum information technologies, including quantum cryptography, dense-coding, quantum teleportation, and optical quantum computation.”
