Ichiro Kitano

Ichiro Kitano worked as a researched at Kobe Kogyo corporation and at Nippon Sheet Glass before earning a Ph.D. in glass science at the Tokyo University of Technology in 1960. In 1992, he received OSA’s David Richardson Medal “for his invention of the radial gradient-index lens array and its application to photocopiers, facsimile scanners, and printers.”
