Eliezer Peli
Eliezer Peli received his M.Sc. in electrical engineering from Technion-Israel Institute of Technology in 1979. He went on to get his OD from the New England College of Optometry. He did his postdoctoral work at the Schepens Eye Research Institute of Mass. Eye and Ear with Dr. George Timberlake from 1983-1984.
He is the Moakley Scholar in Aging Eye Research at Massachusetts Eye and Ear and is a Professor of Ophthalmology and co-director of the Mobility Enhancement and Vision Rehabilitation Center of Excellence at Harvard Medical School.
He has won a number of awards and honors for his work, including the Glenn A. Fry Lecture Award, Alfred W. Bressler Prize in Vision Science, Pisart Vision Award, William Feinbloom Award, Alcon Research Institute Award, Otto Schade Prize, OSA’s Edwin H. Land Medal, Bartimaeus Award, Charles F. Prentice Medal Award, and the Harold Amos Faculty Diverstiy Award. He is a Fellow of OSA, the American Academy of Optometry, and the Society for Information Display.
