David M. Bloom
David M Bloom was born in 1948. He received his undergraduate education in electrical engineering at the University of California at Santa Barbara and completed his graduate studies at Stanford University in 1974. Following the award of the doctoral degree, he joined the staff of the Bell Laboratories, where he remained until 1979, when he joined the staff of the Hewlett Packard Company. He was later a professor at Stanford University and founded ALCES Technology, Inc. He is a Fellow of Optica and recipient of the 1980 Adolph Lomb Medal “For his contributions to the use of nonlinear optical processes to achieve real-time conjugate-wavefront generation and image reconstruction.”
