Julian Stone
Julian Stone earned his Ph.D. in physics after putting himself through his education. He spent 20 years of his career at Bell Labs, where he worked on the first light fiber in the 1970s. In 1995, he earned OSA’s David Richardson Medal “for leadership in the advancement of lightwave component and optical measurement techniques.” He was also a Fellow of OSA.
Stone passed away in 2018.
