Ishwar D Aggarwal

Ishwar D Aggarwal served as Head of the Infrared Materials and Fiber Optic Chemical Sensors Research Group, Naval Research Laboratory, Washington, DC, for 25 years. Previously, he was the Vice President at Lasertron, Inc. He became a Research Professor in the Department of Physics and Optical Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte after retiring from NRL.

He is a Fellow of OSA and recipient of the Society’s 2011 David Richardson Medal “for pioneering work leading to the development of infrared fiber and transparent ceramics.”
