David Shaver
David C. Shaver earned his SB, SM, and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from MIT. Throughout his career, he has held a variety of positions, working with a range of research interests.
As Chief Scientist and Director of Research for Micrion Corporation, he developed focused ion-beam and laser-beam microchemistry systems for photomask, microcircuit, and flat-panel display repair and modification. From 1994-2012, he was the Head of the Advanced Technology Division at Lincoln Laboratory.
Most recently, he served at the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) as Chief Scientist for the Air Dominance Initiative and Deputy Director of Microsystems Technology Office. He is currently a Laboratory Fellow at MIT’s Lincoln Laboratory in the Space Systems and Technology Division.
He was awarded the DARPA Superior Public Service Medal in 2019 and OSA and IS&T’s Edwin H. Land Medal in 2015. He is a Fellow of IEEE.
