Dr. Aline Dinkelaker is a physicist working with laser systems and integrated optics. She studied Physics at the Technical University Berlin and received her PhD from the University of Strathclyde in Scotland on the field of ultracold atoms. Afterwards, she continued working with laser systems for ground- and space-based quantum technology at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.

Aline is now a postdoc at AIP, the Leibniz Institute for Astrophysics Potsdam in Germany, working on Astrophotonics. This includes characterization of optical chips that contain beam combiners for stellar interferometry with multiple telescopes. These centimeter-scale devices can replace larger bulk optics systems in telescope arrays.

As a committee member of the University of Strathclyde Student Chapter and later as a Young Professional and OSA Ambassador, Aline has developed a particular interest in providing platforms for career information to support pupils, students, and young professionals in their career decision process.
