Anshu is an MS student at UC Davis performing pioneering R&D on an economically viable and sustainable alternative to the Li-ion battery storage technology of intermittent power sources including solar and wind power. Specifically, she is developing a latent battery prototype that employs the Al-Si eutectic composition, with large latent heat of fusion, high melting temperature, thermal conductivity and crustal abundance, and a low-cost relative to the fused salt technology for thermal storage.
