Dr. Uwe H. Hömmerich is a dedicated physics professor and an innovative researcher of solid-state luminescence laser & photonic material research and development. I wish to acknowledge and honor my physics MS thesis and Ph.D. dissertation advisor and mentor. His academic and research guidance has supported me throughout my transition from a student into the professoriate. The knowledge acquired during my time with Dr. Hömmerich will continue to impact my life and those of generations to come by contributing optical material R & D applications to society.
