Jeff Kimble Memorial Session

Wednesday, 04 June 00:00 - 00:00

The late H. Jeff Kimble (1949-2024) profoundly influenced quantum optics and quantum information. He developed and explored Optical Parametric Oscillators, cavity QED and waveguide QED as platforms to study non-classical states of light, strong coupling of atoms with the electromagnetic field, quantum teleportation and networking and far from equilibrium open quantum systems. His foundational experimental and theoretical work forged critical links between the fields of AMO physics, precision measurement and quantum information science. The legacy of his more than four decades of groundbreaking research endures through his former students, postdoctoral associates and collaborators. This memorial session brings together a strong group of them to share their recent research and reflect on the enduring legacy of H. Jeff Kimble’s work.
