Find the Quantum Gap
Tuesday, 25 June 13:30 - 14:30
Show Floor Panel, Mees II
Now that quantum computing is becoming more applied, what is needed to accelerate and make it more applicable? Are there any gaps in the development of the building blocks? Where is scarcity, and where do we need to accelerate? How do we integrate this with our existing digital infrastructure (HPC, Cloud, Connectivity and more)?

Quantum Technologies in Developing Countries
Tuesday, 25 June 14:45 - 15:45
Show Floor Panel, Mees II
Quantum technology is a rapidly advancing field with the potential to revolutionize various industries. It uses the principles of quantum mechanics, including quantum entanglement and quantum superposition. Quantum technology promises improvements to various everyday gadgets, including reliable navigation and timing systems, secure communications, accurate healthcare imaging through quantum sensing and more powerful computing.
Governments in technologically advanced countries have invested heavily to develop their country’s quantum expertise. On the other hand, most developing countries are lagging behind in investing in Quantum Technologies. The reasons are a lack of financial resources and vision/policies at the government ministries.
This panel discussion will explore the challenges hindering the development of quantum technology in developing countries. Representatives from quantum technologically advanced countries will join panelists from developing countries to find potential solutions.

Technology Showcase: Thorlabs Quantum Optics Kit
Wednesday, 26 June 10:00 - 10:20
Show Floor Panel, Mees II
Thorlabs' line of educational products aims to promote physics, optics and photonics by covering many classic experiments, as well as emerging fields of research. In this talk, we will introduce our Quantum Optics Educational Kit enabling students to investigate the quantum properties of single or entangled photons.

The Road to Next Generation Quantum Communication Tech
Wednesday, 26 June 13:30 - 13:30
Show Floor Panel, Mees II
In many EU member countries and countries like Japan, there is a strong development in QKD technologies, the so-called first-generation Quantum Network technology. This panel discusses what is next, and when is next? We’ll also address entangled networks, the quantum internet, and how this connects to other developments in quantum technology (and not to forget the existing digital infrastructure).
