About the Speaker

Dr. Aleksandra Boskovic is the vice president for Optical Communications Technology Development at Corning. In this role, she is responsible for ensuring an integrated technology strategy and delivery across Fiber, Cable and Connectivity. This includes delivering the most valuable components and solutions to Corning’s customers, while capitalizing on competitive advantages in fiber, cable, connectivity, actives, and software. Aleksandra joined Corning in 1997 as a scientist at Corning’s main R&R center in NY. During her early career, she gained considerable technical expertise in the areas of optics, optical networks and systems, and glass processing in general. Throughout her career, Aleksandra has built a strong track record in technology leadership in broad technical areas touching all of Corning’s businesses. Aleksandra holds a Ph.D. and a M.Sc. in Physics from Imperial College, UK, and a M.Sc. and B.S. in Physics from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica, Brasil. She also holds an MBA from the Tuck School of Business. Aleksandra is a Fellow of the OPTICA society and a member of the IEEE society.
