About the Speaker
Javier Ponce is the General Director of the Spanish Society for Technological Transformation (SETT), where he leads digital transformation and investments in disruptive technology in Spain. Since August 2024, he has headed SETT, overseeing its evolution from SEMyS following Royal Decree 676/2024. Previously, he served as Deputy General Director of SEMyS, the state entity responsible for boosting the semiconductor sector through the PERTE Chip, a strategic project funded by Next Generation EU funds.
With over 30 years of experience, Javier has held key roles at the CDTI (Center for the Development of Industrial Technology), where he was General Director and Chief Financial Officer, leading public investment policy in Spanish tech startups and managing assets exceeding 5 billion euros. He also served as the Head of the Spanish Delegation to the European Space Agency (ESA) and has made significant contributions to the development of microelectronics and digital transformation in Spain. Javier holds an MBA from IE Business School and a Master’s in Industrial Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
