About the Speaker

Carolina España Reina (born August 24, 1969, in Málaga) is a Spanish politician currently serving as the Minister of Economy, Finance, and European Funds for the Andalusian Regional Government since 2022. In 2024, she was also appointed as the Spokesperson for the Andalusian Government. Previously, she served as a member of the Spanish Congress of Deputies for the Popular Party during the 10th, 11th, 12th, and 13th legislative terms.


Carolina holds a degree in Economics and Business Administration and has spent much of her political career in Málaga. Between 1999 and 2012, she served as Deputy Mayor for the Environment, and from 2003 to 2010, she held the position of Deputy Mayor for Economy, Finance, and Human Resources. Additionally, she was the Spokesperson for the municipal government between 2007 and 2012 and First Deputy Mayor from 2011 to 2012.

In 2011, she was elected as a Deputy for Málaga in the Spanish Congress and was re-elected in 2015 and 2016. During the 10th legislative term, she acted as the spokesperson for the Toledo Pact. In 2022, she joined the Andalusian Government as the Minister of Economy, Finance, and European Funds, and in 2024, she took on the role of government spokesperson.
