Wilson Sibbett
Wilson Sibbett earned his Ph.D. from Imperial College London in 1973. Today, he is Emeritus Professor at the University of St. Andrews, United Kingdom. He is the co-author of more than 300 papers. He has received many awards for his work, including the Rank Prize for Optoelectronics (1997) and Royal Society’s Rumford medal (2000). He is a Fellow of the Royals Society and OSA, and he received the 2011 Charles Hard Townes Medal “for pioneering breakthroughs in the science and technology of ultrashort optical pulses including generation, measurement and the development of practical sources for applications in photophysics, photochemistry, photomedicine, engineering and communications.”
